| Report Summary: | SecureSpan Manager is a GUI-based application that allows administrators to centrally define, manage, and verify fine- grained security and integration policies for Web services and XML applications, collectively referred to as 'services'. Through an intuitive user interface, administrators connect to shared services, establish trust and identity sources with existing infrastructure, and use these sources to define personalized policies through a declarative policy language of assertions. A new service is quickly provisioned using a user-friendly publication wizard. Upon publication, the SecureSpan Manager creates an initial access control policy for immediate service protection. The SecureSpan Gateway protects the shared service in two ways: it acts as a proxy to potential applications or users, and it enforces the policy created for the service in the SecureSpan Manager. | |
