Aberdeen Perspective Large, established computer platform and storage infrastructure vendors have seemed incapable of bringing to market SAN technology that is not aimed at the carriage trade. Consequently, start-up vendors are emerging with disruptive technology-based SAN storage for "Joe Six-Pack." With explicit support from Microsoft, low-cost iSCSI/ATA SANs are likely to find wide adoption as backing storage for Exchange and SQL Server and network-attached storage (NAS) that is based on the Microsoft Server Appliance Kit (SAK) operating system (OS). | |
